I am a law enforcement professional with more than 32 years of experience (1988-2020) and public service within the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), US Department of Justice (DOJ).
I have an established and verifiable record of success, innovation, results driven leadership, and compassion.
I currently serve as a Rehired Annuitant with DHS, after retiring (2018) as the Principle law enforcement officer in my area of responsibility. I have oversight of a national law enforcement program as it relates to local Texas Sheriffs and others.
As a Field Office Director (FOD), my duties included the execution of regulations and policies, and converted them into action plans. I directed the workload of my organization, including but not limited to federal law enforcement and non-law enforcement officers, and administrative personnel.
I directed and managed large-scale law enforcement operations, a robust criminal prosecutions unit, task force operations (DEA, US Marshals, Fusion Center).
I managed and directed the oversight of the safe, secure, and humane detention of individuals in ICE custody, as well as managed those on non-detained dockets.
Provided security support to Judges in the Executive Office of Immigration Review courtrooms.
Managed Budget, Training, Facilities, Public Affairs, Community Outreach, Enforcement activities, and maintained operational equilibrium.
I provided real time briefings to high level government officials, including the U.S. Attorney General, the DHS Secretary, Senators, Congressmen, and organizational leaders.
Additionally, I routinely met with foreign government leaders (Consul General from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, etc.).
